Quality Handcrafted Furniture
Deer Isle, Maine

Made in my one-woman shop, I create a limited number of pieces each year; commissions are also gladly considered.

From intricate chairs, tables and sculptural pieces, to more straightforward benches, I work in collaboration with clients to create heirloom-quality custom furniture specific to their homes and needs.

I am drawn to irregularities in wood - the colors, knots, grain patterns, voids, and/or patinas from weathering please and inspire me. I like clean lines, simply finished edges, and a sense of movement in my work.

I employ traditional joinery throughout each piece and use high quality finishes.

Delivery and Shipping: I am happy to personally deliver furniture throughout the Down East Maine region. If you are outside this area, we can discuss shipping arrangements to determine the best option.

About Lorrie:

I moved to Deer Isle in 2019, setting up my little shop to return my focus to making handcrafted furniture, after many years of building a wide array of things in various capacities. I started working in construction in the 1970’s in New York City, moving into fine furniture fabrication, cabinetry, and running my own contracting business. My life took a new direction when I was introduced to the entertainment industry, building film sets. Building sets, doing rigging, working with light, sound, metal, and wood for film, television, music videos, museum installations, fabricating for sculptors, environmental construction, dance, opera, and Broadway theater, led me into work in the performing arts as a Technical Director (REDCAT theater, and UCLA’s Center for the Art of Performance, in Los Angeles), and consulting in the construction and equipping of theaters, most recently for Oz Arts in Nashville, TN.
